Instrument Panel (I/P) - Upper Trim Pad Replacement

TRIM PAD REPLACEMENT - INSTRUMENT PANEL (I/P) UPPER

REMOVAL PROCEDURE
1. Disconnect the negative battery cable.
2. Disable the driver and passenger side SIR systems. Refer to SIR Disabling and Enabling Zone 3 and SIR Disabling and Enabling Zone 5 in Restraint Systems.
3. Remove the I/P center trim panel.
4. Remove the radio.
5. Remove the front floor console trim plate.
6. Remove the steering wheel inflatable restraint.
7. Remove the steering wheel.
8. Remove the upper and lower steering column covers.
9. Remove the head lamp switch assembly.
10. Remove the wiper switch assembly.
11. Remove the passenger side inflatable restraint.
12. Remove the I/P cluster trim plate.
13. Remove the I/P cluster assembly.
14. Remove the windshield garnish moldings.
15. Remove the left I/P accessory trim plate.




16. Remove any necessary connectors.
17. Remove the screws (3) from the upper instrument panel (1).
18. Remove the upper instrument panel (1) by pulling rearward to remove from the tabs (2).

INSTALLATION PROCEDURE




1. Install the upper instrument panel assembly (1) to the vehicle. Ensure that the retaining clips (2) are fully engaged. Secure the assembly to the lower instrument panel with the 3 screws (3).
2. Connect any necessary connectors.
3. Install the left I/P accessory trim plate.
4. Install the windshield garnish moldings.
5. Install the I/P cluster assembly.
6. Install the I/P cluster trim plate.
7. Install the passenger side inflatable restraint.
8. Install the wiper switch assembly.
9. Install the head lamp switch assembly.
10. Install the upper and lower steering column covers.
11. Install the steering wheel.
12. Install the steering wheel inflatable restraint.
13. Install the front floor console trim plate.
14. Install the radio.
15. Install the I/P center trim panel.
16. Enable the SIR system. Refer to SIR Disabling and Enabling Zone 3 and SIR Disabling and Enabling Zone 5.
17. Connect the negative battery cable.
