Subject:
Availability of Engine Calibration for Use in High Ambient Temperature and High Load Conditions for Competitive Driving
Models:
2006-2007 Chevrolet Cobalt SS
2006-2007 Pontiac Solstice (RPO Z0K Only)

with 2.4L Engine (VIN B - RPO LE5) and 5 Speed Manual Transmission (RPO M86 or MA5)
Supercede:
This bulletin is being revised to add the Pontiac G5 GT and the 2007 model year. Also, provided are the calibrations for these additional models and the requirement to contact Techline. Please discard Corporate Bulletin Number 06-06-04-051 (Section 06 - Engine/Propulsion System).
This is to advise owners who intend to use their 2.4L LE5 engine-equipped vehicle in competitive driving environments under high ambient temperature conditions and/or high loads for extended periods of time of the availability of an engine calibration that will allow the engine to operate at full power under these conditions. This calibration in no way alters the power output of the engine under normal operating conditions. When using this calibration, full synthetic oil (Mobil 15W30 or the equivalent) is required.
These calibrations are to be used in Pontiac Solstice, G5 GT and Chevrolet Cobalt SS specific model vehicles only. These calibrations do not apply to all LE5 engines.
Calibration Information
To obtain the calibration, contact Techline (1-800-828-6860 English or 1-800-503-3222 French) to obtain a VCI number.
This will be required to allow access for specific VINs.
This calibration will be regarded as a customer option and installed at the customer's expense.
Prior to using your vehicle for competitive driving, refer to your vehicle warranty book or your dealership for information on the GM New Vehicle Limited Warranty and how competitive driving may effect your warranty.
