Floor Shift Control Cable Replacement
Removal Procedure
1. Set the park brake and chock the wheels.
2. Disconnect the transaxle shift control cable terminal (1) from the transaxle manual shift lever pin (5).
3. Remove the retainer (2) from the transaxle shift control cable.
4. Press the locking tabs inward in order to release the transaxle shift control cable (3) from the cable bracket (4).
5. Remove the console.
6. Disconnect the transaxle shift control cable terminal (1) from the shift lever pin.
7. Release the transaxle shift control cable retainer (2) and remove the transaxle range selector cable from the transaxle control lever base.
8. Remove the transaxle shift control cable grommet from the cowl panel.
9. Remove the transaxle shift control cable from the vehicle.
Installation Procedure
1. Guide the transaxle shift control cable through the pass-through in the cowl panel.
2. Secure the transaxle shift control cable grommet by pressing the grommet into the pass-through hole in the cowl panel.
3. Install the transaxle shift control cable to the transaxle control lever base. Insure the cable retainer (2) is fully secured to the transaxle control lever base.
4. Connect the transaxle shift control cable terminal (1) to the shift lever pin.
5. Install the console.
6. Install the transaxle shift control cable (3) to the cable bracket (4).
7. Install the retainer (2) to the transaxle shift control cable.
8. Connect the transaxle shift control cable terminal (1) to the transaxle manual shift lever pin (5).
9. Adjust the control cable assembly. Refer to Shift Control Cable Adjustment.
