Main Upper Shaft Assemble




1. Install the reverse gear thrust washer (329) and the reverse gear bearing assembly (328) on the main upper shaft (330).





Important: Ensure that the teeth are correctly seated.

2. Place the reverse gear inner blocking ring (326), the reverse gear intermediate blocking ring (325) and the reverse gear outer blocking ring (324) on the reverse gear (327).
3. Place the reverse gear synchronizer hub (320) onto the reverse gear (327).
4. Hold the reverse gear synchronizer hub (320) and reverse gear (327) together and at the same time press onto the main upper shaft (330) with a press tube (1).





Important: The retainer must snap in completely.

5. Install a NEW reverse gear retainer ring (319) using snap ring pliers.




6. Install the reverse gear synchronizer inserts (321).

Important: Note the correct installation position of the reverse gear synchronizer sleeve, with the groove facing reverse gear.

7. Install the reverse gear synchronizer sleeve (318).





Important: Ensure that the shoulder faces reverse gear.

8. Install the main shaft spacer (317).
9. Press on with a press tube.




10. Install the 3rd gear bearing assembly (316) onto the main upper shaft (330).





Important: Ensure that the teeth are correctly seated.

11. Install the 3rd gear outer blocking ring (314), the 3rd gear intermediate blocking ring (313) and the 3rd gear inner blocking ring (312) onto the 3rd gear (315).
12. Install the 3rd and 4th gear synchronizer hub (308) onto the 3rd gear (315).
13. Hold the synchronizer hub (308) and 3rd gear assembly (315) together and at the same time press onto the main upper shaft (330) with a press tube (1).




14. Using snap ring pliers, install the 3rd and 4th gear retainer ring (307).




15. Install the 3rd and 4th gear inserts (309).
16. Install the 3rd and 4th gear sleeve (306).
17. Install the 4th gear inner blocking ring (305), the 4th gear intermediate blocking ring (304) and the 4th gear outer blocking ring (303).
18. Install the 4th gear bearing assembly (302).
19. Install the 4th gear (301).




20. Install the main shaft bearing cone assembly (300) using a press with a press tube.




21. Install the main shaft bearing cone assembly (331) using a bearing installer (1) and a differential bearing support (2).
