Synchronizers Cleaning and Inspection




1. Inspect the synchronizer blocker ring friction surfaces (1) for wear or damage.
2. Inspect the synchronizer blocker ring teeth (2) for excessive wear.
3. Inspect the synchronizer blocker ring lugs (3) for excessive wear.




4. Inspect the gear thrust gear surface (1) for wear or scoring.
5. Inspect the gear cone surface (2) for wear.
6. Inspect the clutching teeth (3) for excessive wear, shipping, or cracks.
7. Inspect the gear teeth (4) for uneven wear scoring, galling, or cracks.
