Transaxle Disassemble
1. Drain the transmission fluid.
Notice: Refer to Fastener Notice.
2. Tighten the oil drain bolt.
Tighten the bolt to 50 N.m (37 lb ft).
3. Remove the drive axle seals (29, 49).
4. Remove the clutch master cylinder screws (27).
5. Remove the clutch master cylinder assembly (26).
6. Remove the vehicle speed sensor bolt/screw (45).
7. Remove the vehicle speed sensor assembly (46).
8. Remove the backup lamp switch (7).
9. Remove the 3 shift control housing bolts/screws (8).
Important: If necessary, tap gently with a rubber mallet to dislodge the shift control housing assembly.
10. Remove the shift control with shift control shaft housing assembly (9).
11. Remove the central release bolt (25).
12. Remove the 17 transmission case bolts (30).
13. Tilt the transmission upward 90 degrees and remove the 17 transmission case bolts/screws (1,48). Observe the installation position of the bolts and stud bolts.
14. Carefully loosen the transmission housing case (5) using a pry bar at all 3 shackle locations.
15. Remove the transmission housing case (5).
16. Remove the manual transmission oil trough (10).
Important: Remove the shafts together.
17. Remove the input shaft assembly (13), the lower main shaft assembly (34) and the 1st/2nd and 5th/6th fork assembly (38).
18. Remove the fork assembly from the lower main shaft.
19. Remove the shift fork pin (407).
20. Separate the 5th/6th shift fork (400), and the 1st/2nd shift fork (404) from the shift shaft (403).
21. Remove the upper main shaft assembly (21) and the 3rd/4th and reverse fork assembly (17) together.
22. Remove the fork assembly from the upper main shaft.
23. Remove the shift fork pin (415).
24. Separate the reverse shift fork (408) and the 3rd/4th shift fork (412) from the shift shaft (411).
25. Remove the front differential assembly (42).
26. Remove the transmission magnet (31).
