Oil Pan Cleaning and Inspection




1. Remove the oil level sensor.
2. Inspect the O-ring seal (2) and the electrical connector (1) for wear or damage. Repair or replace as necessary.





Caution: Bodily injury may occur if the cleaning solvent is inhaled or exposed to the skin.

3. Clean the oil pan with solvent. Remove all sludge and debris from the oil pan.
4. Dry the oil pan with compressed air.
5. Inspect the oil pan sealing surface for damage and replace if necessary.





Notice: Refer to Fastener Notice .

6. Install the oil level sensor and bolt.

Tighten the oil level sensor bolt to 10 N.m (89 lb in).
