Stabilizer Shaft Replacement (Convertible)

Removal Procedure

1. Raise and support the vehicle. Refer to Vehicle Lifting.
2. Remove the front tire and wheel assemblies.
3. Disconnect the stabilizer links from the stabilizer shaft.
4. Support the rear of the frame assembly with a suitable jack stand.
5. Remove the LH and RH reinforcements. Refer to Drivetrain and Front Suspension Frame Reinforcement Replacement (Convertible).
6. Using the jack stand, lower the rear of the cradle in order to gain access to the stabilizer shaft.




7. Remove the stabilizer bar clamps and insulators. Refer to Stabilizer Shaft Insulator Replacement.
8. Remove the stabilizer shaft through the opening between the frame and body.

Installation Procedure




1. Position the stabilizer shaft to the vehicle through the opening between the frame and body.
2. Install the stabilizer bar clamps and insulators. Refer to Stabilizer Shaft Insulator Replacement.
3. Using the jack stand, raise the rear of the cradle to the body.
4. Install the LH and RH reinforcements. Refer to Drivetrain and Front Suspension Frame Reinforcement Replacement (Convertible).
5. Remove the jack stand.
6. Connect the stabilizer link to the stabilizer bar.
7. Install the front tire and wheel assemblies.
8. Lower the vehicle.
