Folding Top Manual Operation From the Stowed Position to the Closed Position

FOLDING TOP MANUAL OPERATION FROM THE STOWED POSITION TO THE CLOSED POSITION

BEFORE STARTING THIS PROCEDURE:
- After the last cycle of the folding top, allow the folding top system a minimum of 4 minutes to bleed down the hydraulic pressure.
- Access is required to the rear compartment to perform this procedure. If unable to open the rear compartment, refer to Rear Compartment Access Recovery.

1. Open the rear compartment lid.
2. Remove the compartment lid trim panel.
3. Disconnect all electrical components and remove the harness from the rear compartment lid and set aside. Do not disconnect the wiring harness from the forward hinges of the rear compartment lid.
4. Remove the rear compartment lid.
5. Remove the upper retaining pin from the roof retractable panel stowage compartment lid cylinder.
6. Through the access holes in the folding top stowage compartment lid hinge, push upward on the compartment lid hinge arms until the compartment lid hinge arms are exposed through the top slots of the hinge. Refer to Folding Top Stowage Compartment Lid Hinge Replacement.
7. Pull upward on the folding top stowage compartment lid hinge, enough to allow the release of the roof panel locator pins from the folding top rear latches.
8. Remove the rear seat back.




9. In order to access the front roof panel, reach through the opening on either side of the center metal rear seat support and push down the rear compartment front trim panel.




10. Reaching through the rear seat support opening, remove the access hole cover (1) on the front headliner (2).




11. With an allen wrench (1) or suitable tool, turn the pivot actuator pin on the folding top front latch actuator and manually open the front roof panel latches.
12. With the aid of an assistant, lift upward on each side of the front roof panel and carefully raise the folding top to the closed position at the header.
13. Position the front roof panel latches to the front location pin guides on the windshield header, and push the front roof panel down to the closed position.
14. Secure the front roof panel latches by turning the center pivot actuator pin on the latch actuator and manually close the front latches.
15. Install the access hole cover to the front headliner.
16. Push the stowage compartment lid hinge arms down into the folding top stowage compartment lid hinge and reposition the hinge to the vehicle.
17. Install the upper retaining pin to the roof retractable panel stowage compartment lid cylinder.
18. Reposition the rear compartment front trim panel.
19. Install the rear seat back.
20. Install the rear compartment lid.
