Rear Window Shelf Trim Panel Replacement

Tools Required

J 38778 Door Trim Pad and Garnish Clip Remover

Removal Procedure

1. Lower the folding rear seat back.
2. Remove the upper bolts from the seat back frame.
3. Remove the sail trim panels.
4. Remove the lower trim panels from the rear quarter.
5. Remove the upper trim panels from the rear quarter.




6. Use J 38778 to remove the push-in retainers (1) from the rear window trim panel.
7. Remove the rear seat belts from the T-slots in the rear window trim panel.
8. Remove the trim panel.

Installation Procedure




1. Position the trim panel by the rear window.
2. Install the safety belts into the T-slots.
3. Install the push-in retainers (1) to the rear window trim panel.
4. Install the sail trim panels.
5. Install the upper trim panel to the rear quarter.
6. Install the lower trim panels to the rear quarter.

Notice: Refer to Fastener Notice in Service Precautions.

7. Install the upper bolts to the seat back frame.

Tighten the bolts to 6 N.m (53 lb in).

8. Return the seat back to the original position.
