Windshield Pillar Garnish Molding Replacement

Removal Procedure




1. Pull the front door weatherstrip from the pinchweld flange to expose the windshield pillar garnish molding.
2. If the vehicle is not equipped with side curtain air bags, pull on the garnish molding to disengage the retainer clip.




3. If the vehicle is equipped with side curtain air bags do the following:

* Pull on the garnish molding to disengage the retainer clip
* Remove the tether strap from the front pillar.

4. Remove the garnish molding from the vehicle.

Installation Procedure




1. Position the garnish molding to the windshield pillar.

Important: The tether strap retains the garnish molding during airbag deployment. Make certain the tether retainers are fully inserted.

2. If equipped, install the tether strap to the front pillar.




3. Press the garnish molding in to fully seat the retainer clip.
4. Press the door weatherstrip back onto the windshield pinchweld flange.
