Power Steering Return Hose Replacement

Removal Procedure




1. Raise the vehicle. refer to Vehicle Lifting.
2. If equipped, remove the cooler pipe/hose from the retaining clips on the frame.




3. If equipped, remove the cooler pipe/hose from the clamps on the steering gear.
4. Remove the wiring harness clip from the cooler pipe/hose.
5. Disconnect the power steering pressure hose from the steering gear.
6. Disconnect the power steering return from the steering gear.
7. Remove the cooler pipe/hose from the vehicle.

Installation Procedure




1. If equipped, install the cooler pipe/hose to the vehicle.

Notice: Refer to Fastener Notice in Service Precautions.

2. Connect the power steering return pipe/hose to the steering gear.

Tighten the fitting to 27 N.m (20 lb ft).

3. Connect the power steering pressure pipe/hose to the steering gear.

Tighten the fitting to 27 N.m (20 lb ft).

4. Install the wiring harness clip to the cooler pipe/hose.
5. If equipped, Install the cooler pipe/hose to the clips on the steering gear.




6. Install the cooler pipe/hose to the retaining clip on the frame.
7. Lower the vehicle.
8. Fill the power steering system. Refer to Checking and Adding Power Steering Fluid.
9. Bleed the power steering system.
10. Inspect the power steering system for leaks. Refer to Power Steering Fluid Leaks.
