Rear Side Door Window Channel Retainer Replacement
REAR SIDE DOOR WINDOW CHANNEL RETAINER REPLACEMENT
REMOVAL PROCEDURE
1. NOTE: Refer to Paint Damage Notice.
Apply masking tape to the door frame applique.
2. Remove the rear door trim panel.
3. Remove the rear door water deflector.
4. Remove the rear door window weatherstrip.
5. Position the window to the full down position.
6. Remove the screw (2) from the top corner of the inside door frame.
7. Remove the rear door inner belt sealing strip.
8. Pull forward to release the rear door stationary window from the door frame. Refer to Rear Side Door Stationary Window Replacement.
9. Remove the rear door outer belt sealing strip.
10. Remove the window channel weatherstrip by grasping the center and pulling downward to expose the rivets.
11. Drill out the 4 mm (5/32 in) rivets (2) along the inside edge of the window channel retainer (1).
12. Remove the window channel retainer from the door.
INSTALLATION PROCEDURE
1. Install the window channel retainer to the door.
2. Install the new 4 mm (5/32 in) rivets (2) along the inside edge of the window channel retainer.
3. Install the window channel weatherstrip by working it around the door frame. Ensure that the weatherstrip is fully seated into the window channel retainer.
4. NOTE: Refer to Fastener Notice.
Install the screw (2) to the top corner of the inside door frame.
Tighten the screw to 2 N.m (18 lb in).
5. Install the rear door outer belt sealing strip.
6. Push rearward to reset the rear door stationary window into the door frame. Refer to Rear Side Door Stationary Window Replacement.
7. Install the rear door inner belt sealing strip.
8. Install the rear door window weatherstrip.
9. Remove the masking tape.
10. Inspect the window for proper operation.
11. Install the rear door water deflector.
12. Install the rear door trim panel.
