Head Up Display (HUD) Image Adjustment Inoperative
Head Up Display (HUD) Image Adjustment Inoperative
Diagnostic Fault Information
Important: Always perform the Diagnostic System Check - Vehicle prior to using this diagnostic procedure. Initial Inspection and Diagnostic Overview
Circuit/System Description
The head-up display (HUD) information (image) down or information (image) up switch is used to vertically adjust the HUD image on the windshield to accommodate various vehicle operator heights. The HUD monitors the image down or image up switch signal circuit in order to adjust image positions. When the HUD information down or information up switch is depressed and the ignition is in the RUN position, the switch signal to the HUD is low.
Circuit/System Testing
1. Ignition OFF, disconnect the harness connector at the head-up display (HUD) switch.
2. Test for less than 1.0 ohm of resistance between the HUD switch low reference circuit and ground.
• If greater than 1.0 ohm, test the HUD switch low reference circuit for an open/high resistance.
3. Verify a test lamp illuminates when connected between the HUD dimming up switch signal circuit and B+ while pressing the HUD dimming up switch.
• If the test light does not illuminate, test the HUD dimming up switch signal circuit and the low reference circuit for an open/high resistance. If the circuits test normal, replace the HUD switch.
4. If all circuits test normal, test or replace the HUD switch.
