Turbocharger Cleaning and Inspection
Important:
* Completely inspect the turbocharger and all other engine components that may cause similar conditions before replacing the turbocharger.
* Use the following information to diagnose conditions caused by the turbocharger.
* The turbocharger is serviced as a complete unit. Do not remove the PCV hose from the fitting as damage to the hose will occur.
Clean all mating surfaces.
1. Inspect all threaded holes for damage.
2. Inspect the hoses, solenoid, and wastegate actuator rod for damage.
3. Inspect the compressor and turbine blades for damage or foreign material.
4. Clean the turbocharger inlet mating surfaces.
5. Inspect the turbocharger inlet mating surfaces for damage.
Notice: Refer to Fastener Notice.
6. The positive crankcase ventilation (PCV) fitting and O-ring may be serviced if damaged or leaking.
Tighten the PCV fitting bolt to 10 N.m 89 lb in.
