Folding Top Cover Replacement
Removal Procedure
1. Remove the front retainer from the No. 1 bow.
2. Disconnect the rear tack strip retainer from the vehicle.
3. Remove the headliner.
4. Remove the left and right side front weatherstrips.
5. Remove the left and right side front weatherstrip retainers.
Important: The buttress anchor pin is not required to be removed.
6. Remove the plastic retainer and buttress seal around the buttress pin.
7. Slide the top material and buttress fabric off the buttress shoe.
8. Disconnect the 2 cloth straps at the rear pivot bracket.
9. Remove the side tension cable and slider cable.
10. Position the rear window to expose the rear of the No. 4 bow.
11. Disengage the plastic retainer from the No. 4 bow.
12. Pull back the top cover fabric from the front and center bows and side rails.
13. With the aid of an assistant, remove the folding top cover from the folding top frame.
14. Remove the staples which secure the top cover to the rear tack strip retainer.
15. Drill out the rivet used to secure the plastic retainer to the folding top cover at the No. 4 bow position.
Installation Procedure
1. Rivet the folding top cover retainer to the No. 4 bow plastic retainer.
2. Position the rear tack strip retainer to the vehicle.
3. With the aid of an assistant, position the folding top cover to the folding top frame.
4. Reposition the top cover fabric to the front and center bows and side rails.
5. Engage the plastic retainer to the No. 4 bow.
6. Slide the top material and buttress fabric on to the buttress shoe.
7. Install the plastic retainer and buttress seal around the buttress pin.
8. Install the side tension cable and slider cable.
9. Connect the 2 cloth straps at the rear pivot bracket with rivets.
10. Position the folding top fabric to the No. 1 bow and install the retainer.
11. Position the folding top fabric to the rear tack strip retainer and staple into position, allowing for adjustment of the fabric.
12. Position the folding top fabric to the folding top side rails and glue in to position.
13. Inspect the folding top and fabric for proper fit.
14. Complete stapling the folding top fabric to the rear tack strip retainer and install the retainer.
15. Install the headliner.
16. Install the left and right side front weatherstrip retainers.
17. Install the left and right side front weatherstrips.
18. Inspect the folding top for proper fit and operation.
