Brake Modulator Assembly Replacement (With VSC)
Removal Procedure
1. Release the electronic brake control module (EBCM) harness connector lock lever (1).
2. Disconnect the EBCM harness connector (2).
3. Remove the 6 brake pipes from the brake modulator assembly (1).
4. Plug the brake pipes in order to prevent loss or contamination of brake fluid.
5. Remove the 2 bolts (2) from the brake pressure modulator bracket (3).
6. Remove the nut (1) and the brake pressure modulator assembly and bracket.
7. Remove the 2 nuts and the brake pressure modulator assembly from the bracket.
Installation Procedure
Notice: Refer to Fastener Notice.
1. Install the brake pressure modulator assembly to the bracket. Secure with the 2 nuts.
Tighten the brake modulator assembly nuts to 6 N.m (53 lb in).
2. Install the brake pressure modulator assembly and bracket. Secure with the nut (1).
Tighten the brake modulator bracket nut to 20 N.m (15 lb ft).
3. Install the 2 bolts (2) to the brake pressure modulator bracket (3).
Tighten the brake modulator bracket bolts to 20 N.m (15 lb ft).
4. Remove the plugs from the brake pipes and connect the brake pipes to the brake modulator assembly (1).
Tighten the brake pipe fittings nuts to 15 N.m (11 lb ft).
5. Connect the EBCM electrical connector (2).
6. Secure the EBCM electrical connector lock lever (1).
7. Bleed the brake system.
8. Using the scan tool, perform the yaw rate sensor zero point calibration under the special functions menu.
9. Perform the Diagnostic System Check - Vehicle Initial Inspection and Diagnostic Overview
