Timing Component Alignment Marks: Locations
Timing Chain and Sprockets Installation
Important: When performing any service procedure that pertains to the camshaft or the camshaft actuator, unlock the camshaft actuator locking pin.
^ Use a wrench in order to align the camshaft timing marks.
Be sure to place the wrench on the hexagonal portion of the camshafts.
^ Turn the camshafts in order to align the timing marks.
^ Turn the crankshaft until the crankshaft keyway (1) faces upward.
Notice: Refer to Fastener Notice.
^ Install the timing chain shoe. Secure the timing chain shoe using two bolts (1, 2).
Tighten the bolts to 21 N.m (15 lb ft).
^ Install the following components together:
^ The timing chain (2)
Install the timing chain on the crankshaft timing sprocket with the yellow color link aligned with the mark on the crankshaft timing sprocket.
^ The crankshaft timing sprocket
^ Install the timing chain (1) onto the camshafts timing sprockets (3).
Ensure that the timing chain links (yellow timing chain links) are aligned with the timing marks.
^ Install the timing chain dampener. Secure the timing chain dampener using one bolt (1).
Tighten the bolt to 21 N.m (15 lb ft).
^ Unlock the intake camshaft actuator locking pin.
