Transaxle Rear Mount Replacement

Removal Procedure

Caution: Refer to Battery Disconnect Caution.

1. Remove the positive and the negative battery cable.
2. Remove the battery hold down bracket bolt and nut.
3. Remove the battery bracket.
4. Remove the battery and the battery tray.
5. Disconnect the mass airflow (MAF) connector.
6. Disconnect the hoses from the air cleaner case assembly.
7. Remove the air cleaner hose and cap assembly.
8. Remove the air filter.
9. Remove the air cleaner lower box bolts.
10. Remove the air cleaner box.
11. Install the engine support fixture.
12. Remove the transaxle rear mount through bolt.
13. Remove the bolts and the rear transaxle mount.
14. Remove the rear transaxle bracket bolts and bracket.
15. Remove the 2 bolts from the front transaxle mount.
16. Remove the rear transaxle mount through bolt and the mount from the transaxle.

Installation Procedure

Notice: Refer to Fastener Notice.

1. Install the rear transaxle bracket and bolts on the transaxle.

Tighten the rear transaxle bracket bolts to 64 N.m (47 lb ft).

2. Install the rear transaxle mount and bolts to the body rail.

Tighten the transaxle mount bolts to 52 N.m (38 lb ft).

3. Install the rear transaxle mount through bolt.

Tighten the rear transaxle mount through bolt to 87 N.m (64 lb ft).

4. Remove the engine support fixture from the engine.
5. Install the air cleaner box.
6. Install the air cleaner box bolts.
7. Install the air filter.
8. Install the air cleaner hose and cap assembly.
9. Connect the MAF connector.
10. Connect the hoses to the air cleaner case assembly.
11. Install the battery tray and battery.
12. Install the hold down bracket.
13. Install the hold down bracket bolt and nut.

Tighten the hold down bracket bolt and nut to 12 N.m (106 lb in).

14. Connect the positive and negative battery cables.
