Liftgate Wiper Motor Replacement



LIFTGATE WIPER MOTOR REPLACEMENT

REMOVAL PROCEDURE

1. Remove the rear wiper arm.




2. Remove the nut (1) and the wiper packing (2).
3. Open the liftgate glass (8).
4. Remove the wiper motor cover (7) using a flat-bladed tool.
5. Disconnect the 2 rear defogger electrical connectors (3).
6. Remove the 2 nuts (6) from the wiper motor assembly (5).
7. Remove the rear wiper motor (5) from the liftgate glass (8).




8. Disconnect the junction switch electrical connector (6).
9. Remove the junction switch nut (4) and the junction switch (5).
10. Remove the 3 screws (3) that hold the rear wiper shaft cover (1) to the wiper motor assembly (2).
11. Remove the rear wiper shaft cover (1) from the wiper motor assembly (2).

INSTALLATION PROCEDURE




1. Position the rear wiper shaft cover (1) to the wiper motor assembly (2).
2. Install the 3 screws (3) to the wiper shaft cover (1).
3. Position the junction switch (5) to the wiper motor assembly (2) and install the nut (4).
4. Reconnect the junction switch electrical connector (6).




5. Position the wiper motor assembly (5) to the liftgate glass (8).

6. NOTE: Refer to Fastener Note.

Install the 2 nuts (6) to the wiper motor assembly (5).

Tighten the nuts to 5.5 N.m (49 lb in).

7. Reconnect the 2 rear defogger electrical connectors (3).
8. Install the wiper motor cover (7).
9. Close the liftgate glass (8).
10. Install the wiper packing (2).
11. Install the wiper packing nut (1).

Tighten the nut to 7.0 N.m (62 lb in).

12. Install the rear wiper arm.
