Rear Window Shelf Trim Panel Replacement

Tools Required

J 38778 Door Trim Pad and Garnish Clip Remover


Removal Procedure

1. Lower the folding rear seat back.
2. Remove the upper bolts from the seat back frame.
3. Remove the sail trim panels. Refer to Sail Panel Replacement (Service and Repair) .
4. Remove the lower trim panels from the rear quarter. Refer to Rear Quarter Lower Trim Panel Replacement (Service and Repair) .
5. Remove the upper trim panels from the rear quarter. Refer to Rear Quarter Upper Trim Panel Replacement (Service and Repair) .




6. Use J 38778 to remove the push-in retainers (1) from the rear window trim panel.
7. Remove the rear seat belts from the T-slots in the rear window trim panel.
8. Remove the trim panel.



Installation Procedure





1. Position the trim panel by the rear window.
2. Install the safety belts into the T-slots.
3. Install the push-in retainers (1) to the rear window trim panel.
4. Install the sail trim panels. Refer to Sail Panel Replacement (Service and Repair) .
5. Install the upper trim panel to the rear quarter. Refer to Rear Quarter Upper Trim Panel Replacement (Service and Repair) .
6. Install the lower trim panels to the rear quarter. Refer to Rear Quarter Lower Trim Panel Replacement (Service and Repair) .

Notice: Refer to Fastener Notice (Fastener Notice) .

7. Install the upper bolts to the seat back frame.

Tighten the bolts to 6 N.m (53 lb in).

8. Return the seat back to the original position.
