Subject: Intermittent DTC P0133 / Check Engine Light On

2010-2011 Chevrolet Aveo
2010 Pontiac G3
2010 Pontiac G3 Wave (Canada)

Condition

Some customers may comment on an intermittent check engine light on. Technicians may find DTC P0133 set indicating H02S Slow Response - Sensor 1. The subject vehicle may have very low mileage, generally under 1600•km (1000•mi).

Cause

Response time from the HO2S - Sensor 1 may intermittently be longer than expected, setting DTC P0133.

Correction

A revised calibration has been developed to correct this condition. Technicians are to reprogram the ECM using SPS with the latest software available on TIS2WEB. Refer to the Service Programming System (SPS) procedures in SI. As always make sure your Tech 2 is updated with the latest software version.
