Diagnostic Fault Information






Circuit/System Description

S2 is the Rear Compartment Cylinder Extended Sensor. The folding top control (FTC) module uses S2 to determine the position of the deck lid while in the reverse open position. S2 is a hall effect sensor that becomes active when the deck lid is in the reverse open position.

Conditions for Running the DTC

The FTC module is active.

Conditions for Setting the DTC

A short to ground, short to voltage, or open is detected on the signal circuit of S2.

Action Taken When the DTC Sets

The top is disabled.

Conditions for Clearing the DTC

The fault is no longer present and the top completes one cycle.

Diagnostic Aids

A weak battery may cause DTC B3669 58 or DTC B3669 59 to set.

Circuit/System Testing

1. Ignition OFF, disconnect the harness connector at S2.
2. Ignition ON, verify a test lamp illuminates between the 12-volt reference circuit terminal 2 and ground.

If the test lamp does not illuminate, test the 12-volt reference circuit for an open/high resistance or short to ground. If the circuit tests normal, replace the FTC module.

3. Verify a test lamp illuminates between the signal circuit terminal 1 and B+.

If the test lamp does not illuminate, test the signal circuit for an open/high resistance or short to ground. If the circuit tests normal, replace the FTC module.

4. Test the signal circuit for a short to voltage. If the circuit test is normal, replace S2.
