Folding Top Cylinder Valve Disconnection

Folding top cylinder valve disconnects are located on the right and left sides of the rear compartment.

Removal Procedure
Warning: Refer to Eye Protection Warning Eye Protection Warning.

Warning: Refer to Folding Top Hydraulic Pressure Warning Folding Top Hydraulic Pressure Warning.

Warning: Refer to Servicing Electrical Components Warning Servicing Electrical Components Warning.


Note:
* Wait 5 minutes before separating the hydraulic cylinder lines or connectors.
* Once the folding top cylinder valve line has been disconnected, DO NOT move any cylinder rods. This will cause fluid to squirt out of the ports and lines.

1. Remove the reservoir filler plug. Refer to Folding Top Fluid Addition Service and Repair.
2. Remove the rear compartment left side trim panel. Refer to Rear Compartment Side Trim Replacement - Left Side (Convertible) Rear Compartment Side Trim Replacement - Left Side (Convertible)Rear Compartment Side Trim Replacement - Left Side (Coupe/Sedan) Rear Compartment Side Trim Replacement - Left Side (Coupe/Sedan).
3. Remove the rear compartment front trim panel. Refer to Rear Compartment Front Trim Panel Replacement (Convertible) Rear Compartment Front Trim Panel Replacement (Convertible).
4. Place a protective covering over the rear compartment interior and the adjacent body panels.




5. Disconnect the left side folding top cylinder valve block (3) from the body line (2).

Installation Procedure

1. Place a protective covering over the rear compartment interior and the adjacent body panels.




2. Connect the left side folding top cylinder valve block (3) to the body line (2).
3. Install the reservoir filler plug. Refer to Folding Top Fluid Addition Service and Repair.
4. Bleed the folding top hydraulic system. Refer to Folding Top Hydraulic System Bleeding Procedures.
5. Install the rear compartment left side trim panel. Refer to Rear Compartment Side Trim Replacement - Left Side (Convertible) Rear Compartment Side Trim Replacement - Left Side (Convertible)Rear Compartment Side Trim Replacement - Left Side (Coupe/Sedan) Rear Compartment Side Trim Replacement - Left Side (Coupe/Sedan).
6. Install the rear compartment front trim panel. Refer to Rear Compartment Front Trim Panel Replacement (Convertible) Rear Compartment Front Trim Panel Replacement (Convertible).
7. Inspect the folding top for proper operation.
