Front Air Dam Replacement (G6)

Removal Procedure

1. Raise and support the vehicle. Refer to Lifting and Jacking the Vehicle Service and Repair.




2. Remove the screws (1) and integral snaps (2) from the left and the right side of the air dam.
3. Remove the left and the right side of the air dam from the fascia.




4. Remove the center engine splash shield and center air dam as an assembly, removing the push in retainers first, then the screws.
5. Remove the air dam from the vehicle.

Installation Procedure

1. Install the air dam to the vehicle.




2. Install the left and the right side of the air dam to fascia.

Caution: Refer to Fastener Caution Fastener Caution.

3. Install the screws (1) and push-in retainers to the left and the right side of the center engine splash shield and the air dam.

Tighten the screws to 10 Nm (89 lb in).




4. Install the center engine splash shield, the air dam screws and the integral snaps.

Tighten the screws to 2 Nm (18 lb in).

5. Lower the vehicle.
