Power Brake Booster Vacuum Check Valve and Hose Replacement

Removal Procedure




1. Remove the vacuum check valve (1) and hose assembly from the vacuum brake booster.




2. Remove the vacuum check valve (1) by releasing the clamp (2) and removing the vacuum hose (3).
3. If replacing the vacuum check valve, remove the grommet (4) from the brake booster and discard the grommet.




4. If removing the vacuum hose, note the vacuum hose routing.
5. Release the clamp (1) and remove the vacuum hose (2) from the manifold vacuum port (3).

Installation Procedure




1. Position the clamp (1) on the vacuum hose (2).
2. Install the vacuum hose to the manifold vacuum port (3).
If necessary, a small amount of denatured alcohol may be used as a lubricant for assembly. Do not use soap.




3. Install the vacuum check valve (1) by positioning the clamp (2) installing the vacuum hose (3).
If necessary, a small amount of denatured alcohol may be used as a lubricant for assembly. Do not use soap.
4. Install the grommet (4) to the brake booster, if removed.




5. Install the vacuum check valve (1) and hose assembly to the vacuum brake booster.
If necessary, a small amount of denatured alcohol may be used as a lubricant for assembly. Do not use soap.
