Valve Cover: Service and Repair




Camshaft Cover Replacement

Removal Procedure




1. Remove the air cleaner outlet duct. Refer to Air Cleaner Outlet Duct Replacement Air Cleaner Outlet Duct Replacement.
2. Reposition the positive crankcase ventilation (PCV) hose clamp.
3. Remove the PCV hose from the cover.




4. Disconnect the intake (2) and exhaust (1) camshaft position actuator solenoid valve electrical connectors.




5. Remove the fuel feed pipe retainer (2) from the fuel pipe bracket.




6. Remove the fuel feed pipe bracket bolt and bracket.




7. Disconnect and remove the ignition coil electrical connector harness clips from the cover.
8. Remove the ignition coils. Refer to Ignition Coil Replacement Service and Repair.




9. Remove the camshaft cover bolts.
10. Remove the camshaft cover.

Installation Procedure





Caution: Refer to Fastener Caution Fastener Caution.

1. Install the camshaft cover and bolts and tighten to 10 Nm (89 lb in).




2. Install the ignition coils. Refer to Ignition Coil Replacement Service and Repair.
3. Install and connect the ignition coil electrical connector harness clips to the cover.




4. Install the fuel feed pipe bracket and bolt and tighten the bolt to 10 Nm (89 lb in).




5. Install the fuel feed pipe retainer (2) to the fuel pipe bracket.




6. Connect the intake (2) and exhaust (1) camshaft position actuator solenoid valve electrical connectors.




7. Install the PCV hose to the cover.
8. Position the PCV hose clamp.
9. Install the air cleaner outlet duct. Refer to Air Cleaner Outlet Duct Replacement Air Cleaner Outlet Duct Replacement.
