Exhaust Pipe Replacement (With MH8)

Exhaust Pipe Replacement (LE5 or LE9 With MH8)

Removal Procedure

1. Raise and support the vehicle. Refer to Lifting and Jacking the Vehicle Service and Repair.




2. Remove the exhaust pipe (2) to converter nuts (1).




3. Remove the exhaust pipe to muffler assembly nuts (2).
4. Move the muffler assembly rearward in order to disengage the exhaust pipe.
5. Discard both gaskets.

Installation Procedure

1. Install new gaskets to the exhaust pipe and muffler assembly.
2. Move the muffler assembly rearward in order to install the exhaust between the converter and muffler assembly.





Caution: Refer to Fastener Caution Fastener Caution.

3. Install the exhaust pipe to muffler assembly nuts (1) and tighten to 25 Nm (18 lb ft).




4. Install exhaust pipe (2) to converter nuts (1) and tighten to 25 Nm (18 lb ft).
5. Lower the vehicle.
