Compressor Pressure Relief Valve Replacement

Removal Procedure

1. Recover the refrigerant. Refer to Refrigerant Recovery and Recharging Refrigerant Recovery and Recharging.

Note: Cap or tape the open A/C components immediately to prevent system contamination.

2. Remove the air conditioning compressor. Refer to Air Conditioning Compressor Replacement (LZE, LZ4, LZ9) Air Conditioning Compressor Replacement (LY7) .




3. Remove the high pressure relief valve.

Installation Procedure

1. Remove the cap or tape from the A/C compressor.





Caution: Refer to Fastener Caution Fastener Caution.

2. Install the high pressure relief valve.

Tighten the valve to 8 Nm (70 lb in).

3. Install the air conditioning compressor. Refer to Air Conditioning Compressor Replacement (LZE, LZ4, LZ9) Air Conditioning Compressor Replacement (LY7) .
4. Evacuate and recharge the refrigerant system. Refer to Refrigerant Recovery and Recharging Refrigerant Recovery and Recharging.
5. Leak test the fittings of the component using J 39400-A .
