Power Steering Pump Shaft Seal Replacement

Removal Procedure

1. If necessary, remove the power steering pump. Refer to Power Steering Pump Replacement (LZ4, LZ9) .





Important: Protect the power steering pump shaft with the shim stock.


2. Use a small chisel in order to remove the power steering pump shaft seal and discard it.

Installation Procedure

1. Lubricate the new power steering pump shaft seal using power steering fluid.




2. Use a deep socket to evenly press the power steering pump shaft seal into the power steering pump housing.
3. If necessary, install the power steering pump. Refer to Power Steering Pump Replacement (LZ4, LZ9) .
