Removal Procedure

1. Raise and support the vehicle. Refer to Lifting and Jacking the Vehicle Service and Repair.
2. Remove the rear tire and wheel assembly. Refer to Tire and Wheel Removal and Installation Service and Repair.
3. Disconnect the rear park brake cable from the park brake actuator and position aside. Refer to Parking Brake Rear Cable Replacement Service and Repair.
4. Remove the brake caliper and bracket as an assembly. Refer to Rear Brake Caliper Bracket Replacement Rear Brake Caliper Bracket Replacement.
5. Remove the wheel bearing/hub assembly. Refer to Rear Wheel Bearing and Hub Replacement Rear Suspension.
6. Remove the lower shock to knuckle bolt. Refer to Shock Absorber Replacement Shock Absorber Replacement.
7. Remove the coil spring. Refer to Coil Spring Replacement Coil Spring Replacement.




8. Remove the 3 trailing arm to knuckle bolts (1).




9. Remove the toe link to knuckle bolt and nut.
10. Remove the coil spring. Refer to Coil Spring Replacement Coil Spring Replacement.




11. Remove the stabilizer link to knuckle bolt.




12. Remove the upper control arm to knuckle bolt and nut.
13. Remove the knuckle from the vehicle.

Installation Procedure




1. Position the knuckle to the upper control arm. Loosely install the bolt and nut.





Caution: Refer to Fastener Caution Fastener Caution.

2. Install the stabilizer link to knuckle bolt.

Tighten the stabilizer link to knuckle bolt to 55 Nm (41 lb ft).

3. Install the coil spring. Refer to Coil Spring Replacement Coil Spring Replacement.




4. Loosely install the toe link to knuckle bolt and nut.




5. Install the 3 trailing arm to knuckle bolts (1).

Tighten the trailing arm to knuckle bolts to 180 Nm (133 lb ft).

6. Install the lower shock to knuckle bolt. Refer to Shock Absorber Replacement Shock Absorber Replacement.
7. Install the upper control arm to knuckle bolt. Refer to Rear Axle Upper Control Arm Replacement Rear Axle Upper Control Arm Replacement.
8. Install the lower control arm to knuckle bolt and the support bolt. Refer to Rear Axle Lower Control Arm Replacement Rear Axle Lower Control Arm Replacement.
9. Install the toe link to knuckle bolt and nut. Refer to Rear Suspension Link Replacement - Toe Link Service and Repair.
10. Install the wheel bearing/hub assembly. Refer to Rear Wheel Bearing and Hub Replacement Rear Suspension.
11. Install the brake caliper and bracket assembly on the knuckle. Refer to Rear Brake Caliper Bracket Replacement Rear Brake Caliper Bracket Replacement.
12. Install the rear park brake cable to the park brake actuator. Refer to Parking Brake Rear Cable Replacement Service and Repair.
13. Install the rear tire and wheel assembly. Refer to Tire and Wheel Removal and Installation Service and Repair.
14. Lower the vehicle.
15. Perform a vehicle wheel alignment. Refer to Wheel Alignment Measurement Wheel Alignment Measurement.
