Hood Hinge Replacement

Removal Procedure





Warning

When a hood hold open device is being removed or installed, provide alternate support to avoid the possibility of damage to the vehicle or personal injury.

1. Remove the hood. Refer to Hood Replacement Service and Repair.
2. Using a grease pencil, mark the position of the hood hinge to the body.
3. Remove the upper fender bolts.
4. Remove the hinge bolts and the hinge.

Installation Procedure




1. Position the hood hinge to the alignment marks on the vehicle.

Caution: Refer to Fastener Caution Fastener Caution.

2. Install the hood hinge to body bolts.

Tighten the hood hinge to body bolts to 10 Nm (89 lb in).

3. Install the hood. Refer to Hood Replacement Service and Repair.
4. Install the upper fender bolts.

Tighten the hood hinge to body bolts to 10 Nm (89 lb in).

5. Close the hood.
