Hood Primary and Secondary Latch Replacement
Removal Procedure
1. Open the hood.
2. Remove the upper fascia support. Refer to Front Bumper Fascia Upper Support Replacement Front Bumper Fascia Upper Support Replacement.
3. Mark the hood latch location to the support bracket with a grease pencil.
4. Remove the hood latch bolts.
5. Disconnect the release cable from the hood latch by squeezing the cable retainer.
6. Disconnect the remote start electrical connector, if equipped.
7. Remove the hood latch from the vehicle.
Installation Procedure
1. Install the hood latch release cable to the hood latch.
2. Position the hood latch to the alignment marks on the support bracket.
Caution: Refer to Fastener Caution Fastener Caution.
3. Install the hood latch bolts.
Tighten the bolts to 10 Nm (89 lb in).
4. Tighten the latch bolts with the latch in the full up position.
5. Connect the remote start electrical connector, if equipped.
6. Slowly close the hood and press down until the hood is flush with the fenders.
7. Open the hood.
8. Adjust the hood, if required. Refer to Hood Adjustment Adjustments.
9. Install the fascia support. Refer to Front Bumper Fascia Upper Support Replacement Front Bumper Fascia Upper Support Replacement.
10. Close the hood.
