Engine Block Heater Replacement
Removal Procedure
1. Unclip the engine block heater harness plug bundle from the air inlet attachment flange.
2. Detach the engine block heater harness retainer from the engine harness.
3. Disengage the engine block heater element retaining clip from the engine block and remove the engine block heater assembly (1).
Installation Procedure
Note: Visually inspect that the engine block heater harness plug (1) is fully seated onto the element. Ensure the heating element is fully inserted into the engine block and the retaining clip is engaged. An audible click will be heard when clip is locked in position.
1. Completely insert the engine block heater element into the engine block cavity in the nine o'clock position.
2. Route block heater harness below the heater hose.
Note: Ensure the engine block heater harness clip is fully attached to the conduit of the engine harness. An audible click will be heard when fully seated.
3. Attach the engine block heater harness forward of the engine harness protector.
4. Route the engine block heater harness below the battery tray bracket and along the battery harness.
5. Route the engine block heater harness rearward and behind the air inlet. Bring harness upward along the air inlet.
Note: When installation is completed, ensure the engine block heater harness plug bundle is stowed between the air inlet and the fender.
6. Clip the engine block heater harness plug bundle to the air inlet attachment flange close to the neck.
