Transfer Case Fluid Replacement




1. Remove the No. 1 transfer case plug and gasket.

Note: When changing oil, recheck the oil level after driving.

2. Check that the oil level is within 0-5 mm (0-0.197 in) (a) from the lowest position of the hole for No. 1 transfer case plug.
3. When the oil level is too low, check for oil leakage.

* When checking oil, make sure that the vehicle is level.
* When adding oil, pour it slowly.
* Add oil gradually at several intervals.
* After leaving it alone for 5 min, check the oil level again.

Caution: Refer to Fastener Caution (Fastener Caution)

4. Install the No. 1 transfer case plug with a new gasket.

Tighten the plug to 49 Nm (36 lb ft).
