Discharge Hose Replacement




Discharge Hose Replacement (2.4L (LAX))

Removal Procedure

Note: When installing a new hose assembly add 40 ml (1.4 fl oz) of refrigerant oil to the refrigeration system.

1. Discharge and recover the refrigerant. Refer to Refrigerant Recovery and Recharging (Refrigerant Recovery and Recharging).





Note: Cap the open fittings to prevent dirt and moisture from entering the refrigeration system.

2. Remove the bolt (10) and the discharge hose (8) from the compressor.
3. Remove the bolt (12) and the discharge hose assembly (8) from the A/C condenser.

Installation Procedure

1. Install new O-rings lubricated with 525 viscosity mineral oil.




2. Position the discharge hose assembly (8) into the vehicle.
3. Install the discharge hose (8) to the A/C condenser.

Caution: Refer to Fastener Caution (Fastener Caution).

4. Install the discharge hose bolt (12) to the A/C condenser.

Tighten the bolt (12) to 5.4 Nm (48 lb in).

5. Install the discharge hose (8) and bolt (10) to the compressor.

Tighten the bolt (10) to 9.8 Nm (87 lb in).

6. Evacuate and recharge the refrigerant system. Refer to Refrigerant Recovery and Recharging (Refrigerant Recovery and Recharging).
7. Operate the A/C system and test for refrigerant leaks. Refer to Leak Testing (Leak Testing).
