Ignition Lock Cylinder Replacement

Removal Procedure

1. Disable the SIR system. Refer to SIR Disabling and Enabling (Service and Repair).
2. Remove the key transponder amplifier. Refer to Theft Deterrent Key Transponder Amplifier Replacement (Service and Repair).




3. Insert the key into the ignition lock cylinder.
4. Turn the key to the ACC position.

Note: Make sure to pull the ignition switch lock cylinder until its claw contacts the stopper of the cylinder case. Failure to do so will affect later work operations.

5. Insert a screwdriver into the hole of the ignition lock cylinder case, pull the ignition lock cylinder until its claw (1) contacts the stopper (2) of the ignition lock cylinder case.




6. Insert a screwdriver into the hole (2) of the ignition lock cylinder case. Tilt the screwdriver to disengage the claw (1) of the ignition lock cylinder, and pull out the ignition lock cylinder.

Installation Procedure




1. Insert the key into the ignition lock cylinder.
2. Verify the key is in the ACC position.
3. Install the cylinder into the ignition lock cylinder case, making sure the claws are engaged.
4. Remove the key from the cylinder.
5. Install the key transponder amplifier. Refer to Theft Deterrent Key Transponder Amplifier Replacement (Service and Repair).
6. Enable the SIR system. Refer to SIR Disabling and Enabling (Service and Repair).
