Crankshaft Position Sensor Replacement
Removal Procedure
1. Disconnect cable from negative battery terminal. refer TO Battery Negative Cable Disconnection and Connection (Service and Repair)
2. Remove the right engine under cover.
3. Remove the generator assembly. Refer to Generator Replacement (2.4L) (Service and Repair)Generator Replacement (1.8L) (Service and Repair)
4. Disconnect the crankshaft position sensor connector (1).
5. Separate the crankshaft position sensor connector clamp and wire harness (3).
6. Remove the bolt and crankshaft position sensor (4).
Installation Procedure
1. Apply a light coat of engine oil to the O-ring (1) on the crankshaft position sensor.
Caution: Refer to Fastener Caution (Fastener Caution).
2. Install the crankshaft position sensor (4) with the bolt and tighten to 9.0 Nm (80 lb in).
Note: Do not twist the O-ring.
3. Install the wire harness (3) and crankshaft position sensor connector clamp.
4. Connect the crankshaft position sensor connector (2).
5. Install the generator assembly. Refer to Generator Replacement (2.4L) (Service and Repair)Generator Replacement (1.8L) (Service and Repair)
6. Install the right engine under cover.
7. Connect cable to negative battery terminal.
8. Inspect for oil leak.
