54. Accumulator Piston Installation

Accumulator Piston Installation





Note: Install the O-ring to the accumulator piston, being careful not to twist or pinch it. Apply ATF WS to the O-ring prior to installation.

1. Coat a new O-ring (2) with ATF WS , and install it to the 1, 2, 3, 4 and reverse clutch accumulator piston.





Note: Install the correct springs to the 1, 2, 3, 4 reverse clutch accumulator piston (1) after confirming the color and dimension of the springs.

2. Coat the piston and springs with ATF WS , and install them to the transaxle case.

* Accumulator Spring - 1, 2, 3, 4 reverse clutch
* Inner, Free length/Outer diameter - 15.50-62.00 mm (0.610-2.4409 in)
* Outer, Free length/Outer diameter - 21.70-74.23 mm (0.854-2.9224 in)
* Color - Purple





Note: Install the O-rings to the accumulator piston, being careful not to twist or pinch it. Apply ATF WS to the O-rings prior to installation.

3. Coat the new O-rings (2, 3) with ATF WS , and install them to the reverse clutch accumulator piston (1).





Note: Install the correct spring to the reverse clutch accumulator piston after confirming the color or dimension of the spring.

4. Coat the piston and spring with ATF WS, and install them to the transmission case.

* Accumulator Spring - reverse clutch
* Free length/Outer diameter - 14.10-60.96 mm (0.555-2.3999 in)
* Color - Yellow





Note: Install the O-ring to the accumulator piston, being careful not to twist or pinch it. Apply ATF WS to the O-ring prior to installation.

5. Coat a new O-ring (2) with ATF WS , and install it to the 5th clutch accumulator piston.




6. Coat the piston with ATF WS, and install it to the transmission case.





Note: Install the correct spring to the 5th clutch accumulator piston after confirming the color and dimension of the spring.

7. Install the spring to the 5th clutch accumulator piston.

* Accumulator Spring - 5th clutch
* Free length/Outer diameter - 19.0-72.20.00 mm (0.748-2.8425 in)




8. Coat the actuator valve with ATF WS.

Note: Regarding the installation of the spring and the check ball body, be sure to place the spring into ball body. Be sure to install the parts in the correct direction.

9. Install the actuator valve and spring.





Note: Do not damage the lip portion of the 2nd clutch hub gasket when inserting the gasket to the case. Apply ATF WS to the gasket prior to installation.

10. Coat a new 2nd clutch hub gasket (1) with ATF WS, and install it to the transmission case.





Note: Do not damage the lip portion of the transaxle case 2nd clutch apply gasket when inserting the gasket to the case. Apply ATF WS to the gasket prior to installation.

11. Coat a new 2nd clutch apply gasket (1) with ATF WS, and install it to the transmission case.





Note: Do not damage the lip portion of the case fluid passage gasket when inserting into the case. Apply ATF WS to the gasket prior to installation.

12. Coat a new case fluid passage gasket (1) with ATF WS, and install it to the transmission case.
