Transmission Fluid Replacement

Removal Procedure




1. Remove the filler plug and the gasket.
2. Remove the drain plug and gasket, and then drain the manual transaxle oil.

Installation Procedure





Caution: Refer to Fastener Caution (Fastener Caution).

1. Install a new gasket and drain plug and tighten to 49 Nm (36 lb ft).
2. Add manual transaxle oil to the proper level (a).
3. Install the transmission filler plug and new gasket and tighten to 49 Nm (36 lb ft).

Inspection Procedure

1. Inspect the manual transaxle oil.
2. Stop the vehicle in a level place.
3. Remove the transmission filler plug and gasket.
4. Check that the oil surface is within 5 mm (0.20 in) from the lowest position of the hole for the transmission filler plug opening.
5. Check for oil leakage when the oil level is low.
6. Install a new gasket and the transmission filler plug and tighten to 49 Nm (36 lb ft).
