Hood Replacement
Removal Procedure
1. Raise and suitably support the hood.
2. Install protective covers over the front fenders to prevent paint damage.
3. Disengage the two clips (2), and remove the hood protector clip (1).
4. Remove the seven retainers and the radiator support seal.
5. Remove the hood insulator. Refer to Hood Insulator Replacement (Service and Repair).
6. Remove the washer nozzles. Refer to Washer Nozzle Replacement (Service and Repair).
7. Remove the washer hose assembly. Refer to Hose Replacement (Hose Connector to Washer Nozzle) (Service and Repair).
8. Mark the position of the hood hinges on the hood to ease assembly.
9. Remove the 2 mounting bolts which secure the hood (1) to each of the hood hinges (3).
10. Remove the hood with the aid of a helper.
Installation Procedure
Important: Before installing the hood, be sure to apply anti-corrosion treatment to the hood and hood hinge mating surfaces. Refer to Anti-Corrosion Treatment and Repair ().
1. Install the hood (1) with the aid of a helper to the hood hinges (3), aligning the mating marks. Secure the hood with 2 mounting bolts at each hinge. Do not tighten fully.
2. Install the washer hose assembly. Refer to Hose Replacement (Hose Connector to Washer Nozzle) (Service and Repair).
3. Install the washer nozzles. Refer to Washer Nozzle Replacement (Service and Repair).
4. Install the hood insulator. Refer to Hood Insulator Replacement (Service and Repair).
5. Install the seven retainers and the radiator support seal.
6. Engage the two clips (2), and install the hood protector clip (1).
7. Remove the protective covers from the front fenders (2).
8. Adjust the hood, if necessary. Refer to Hood Adjustment (Adjustments).
