Radiator Cooling Fan: Service and Repair

Engine Coolant Fan Replacement (1.8L)

Removal Procedure

1. Remove the radiator assembly. Refer to Radiator Replacement (2.4L) (Service and Repair)Radiator Replacement (1.8L) (Service and Repair).




2. Remove the nut (1), then remove the fan.




3. Disconnect the connector and 2 clamps (2, 3) from the fan shroud.




4. Remove the 3 screws (1, 2, 3), then remove the cooling fan motor.

Installation Procedure




1. Install the cooling fan motor with the 3 screws (1, 2, 3).
2. Connect the connector and 2 clamps.





Caution: Refer to Fastener Caution (Fastener Caution).

3. Install the fan with the nut (1) and tighten to 6.3 Nm (56 lb in).
4. Install the radiator assembly. Refer to Radiator Replacement (2.4L) (Service and Repair)Radiator Replacement (1.8L) (Service and Repair).
