Stabilizer Shaft Replacement (Except All Wheel Drive and GT)
Removal Procedure
1. Raise and support the vehicle. Refer to Lifting and Jacking the Vehicle (Service and Repair).
2. Remove the insulator (4) from the stabilizer shaft (3).
3. Remove the 2 nuts (2).
4. Remove the 2 bolts (6).
5. Remove the stabilizer shaft from the twist beam rear axle (1).
Installation Procedure
1. Position the stabilizer shaft on the rear axle. Ensure the mark (1) is on the left rear of the stabilizer shaft.
Caution: Refer to Fastener Caution (Fastener Caution).
2. Install the 2 bolts (6) and the 2 nuts (2) in order to retain the stabilizer shaft (3) to the rear axle (1). Hold the bolts with a wrench and tighten the nuts.
Tighten the nuts to 250 Nm (184 lb ft).
3. Install the insulator (4) to the center of the stabilizer shaft.
4. Lower the vehicle.
