40. Low Clutch and 2nd Clutch Sprag Assemble

Low Clutch and 2nd Clutch Sprag Assemble





Note: Check the positioning direction of the outer sleeve.

1. Install the 2nd clutch sprag outer race (1) to the 2nd clutch assembly.





Note: After installing the washer (1), confirm that the projections on the washer are securely fitted in the holes of the sun gear assembly.

2. Coat the low clutch sprag thrust washer with ATF WS, and install it onto the rear carrier assembly.





Note:
* Check the direction of the inner race.
* Confirm that the identification mark can be seen.

3. Install the 2nd clutch sprag inner race to the low clutch sprag.




4. Check the rotating direction of the 2nd clutch sprag inner race for the lock or free operation.





Note: Install the thrust bearing properly so that uncolored race will be visible.

5. Install the low clutch sprag (1) and thrust needle roller bearing (2) to the 2nd clutch sprag outer race.

* Inside Bearing Diameter - 53.6 mm (2.110 in)
* Outside Bearing Diameter - 69.4 mm (2.732 in)




6. Coat the low clutch sprag inner thrust washer (1) with ATF WS, and install it onto the rear sun gear.
