Transmission Fluid Replacement




1. Remove the filler plug and the gasket.
2. Remove the drain plug and gasket, and drain the manual transaxle oil.

Caution: Refer to Fastener Caution (Fastener Caution)

3. Install a new gasket and the drain plug.

Tighten the plug to 39 Nm (29 lb ft).

4. Add manual transaxle oil.
5. Install the transmission filler plug and a new gasket.

Tighten the filler plug to 39 Nm (29 lb ft).

6. Inspect the manual transaxle oil.
7. Stop the vehicle in a level place.
8. Remove the transmission filler plug and the gasket.
9. Check that the oil surface is within 5 mm (0.197 in) (a) of the bottom of the transmission filler plug opening.

Note:
* Excessively large or small amounts of oil may cause problems.
* After replacing the oil, drive the vehicle and check the oil level again.

10. Check for oil leakage when the oil level is low.
11. Install the transmission filler plug and a new gasket.

Tighten the filler plug to 39 Nm (29 lb ft).
