Rear Door Lock Replacement

Removal Procedure




1. Remove the rear inside door handle. Refer to Rear Side Door Inside Handle Replacement (Service and Repair).
2. Pull the water deflector far enough away to gain access to the door lock.
3. Disconnect the power door lock actuator electrical connector (3), if equipped.
4. Remove the following components from the door (1):

* The 3 screws (4)
* The door lock (5) with the cables (2) attached.

5. Move the rear door lock assembly downward and pull the release plate out of the rear door outside handle.

Installation Procedure

1. Apply multi-purpose grease to the sliding parts of the rear door lock assembly.





Note: When reusing the removed rear door lock assembly, replace the door lock wiring harness seal on the connector with a new one.

2. Install the rear door lock (5) assembly to the rear door outside handle release plate, and set it to the rear door panel.

Caution: Refer to Fastener Caution (Fastener Caution)

3. Install the rear door lock (5) to the door (1). Secure the door lock with the 3 screws (4) and tighten to 5 Nm (44 lb in).
4. Connect the power door lock actuator electrical connector (3), if equipped.
5. Reposition the water deflector (3) to the door.
6. Install the rear inside door handle. Refer to Rear Side Door Inside Handle Replacement (Service and Repair).
