54. Oil Pan Installation

Oil Pan Installation





Note: Remove any oil from the contact surfaces. Install the oil pan within 3 minutes of applying sealant. Do not add engine oil for at least 2 hours after installing the oil pan.

1. Apply a continuous bead (1) of Three Bond 1207B or equivalent, diameter 4.0-4.5 mm (0.158-0.177 in), as shown in the illustration.
2. Install the oil pan onto the cylinder block.





Caution: Refer to Fastener Caution (Fastener Caution).

3. Uniformly tighten the 12 bolts and 2 nuts in the sequence shown in the illustration.

Tighten the bolts and nuts to 9.0 Nm (80 lb in).
