Control Valve Body and Wiring Harness Removal
Removal Procedure
1. Drain the automatic transaxle fluid.
2. Remove the battery. Refer to Battery Replacement (Removal and Replacement).
3. Remove the battery tray. Refer to Battery Tray Replacement (Service and Repair).
4. Remove the transmission oil filler tube assembly.
5. Remove the engine splash shield. Refer to Engine Splash Shield Replacement - Left Side (Engine Splash Shield Replacement - Left Side).
6. Remove the automatic transaxle oil pan assembly.
7. Remove the bolts (1), oil pan and gasket.
8. Disconnect the shift solenoid valve connectors (1-7).
9. Remove the bolt and lock plate, and disconnect the ATF temperature sensor.
10. Disconnect the transmission wire connector.
11. Remove the bolt (1) and transmission wire.
12. Remove the O-ring (1) from the transmission wire.
Installation Procedure
1. Coat a new O-ring (1) of the transmission wire connector with ATF WS and install it to the transmission wire.
Caution: Refer to Fastener Caution (Fastener Caution)
2. Install the transmission wire with the bolt (1) and tighten to 5 Nm (44 lb in).
3. Connect the transmission wire connector.
4. Coat the O-ring of the ATF temperature sensor with ATF WS.
5. Install the ATF temperature sensor with the lock plate and bolt and tighten to 7 Nm (62 lb in).
6. Connect the shift solenoid valve connectors (1-7).
7. Install the automatic transaxle oil pan assembly (1, 2).
8. Apply sealant Three Bond 1281 or equivalent to the bolts.
Note: Since the bolts should be seal bolts, apply sealant Three Bond 1281 or equivalent to the bolts and tighten them within 10 minutes of application.
9. Using a new gasket, install the oil pan to the transaxle case with the bolts (1) and tighten to 8 Nm (71 lb in).
10. Install the transmission oil level indicator tube assembly.
11. Install the battery tray. Refer to Battery Tray Replacement (Service and Repair).
12. Install the battery. Refer to Battery Replacement (Removal and Replacement).
13. Install the engine splash shield. Refer to Engine Splash Shield Replacement - Left Side (Engine Splash Shield Replacement - Left Side).
14. Add automatic transaxle fluid.
15. Inspect the transaxle fluid level.
