Output Carrier Assembly Assemble

Special Tools
* J-37161-2 - Ring Adapter
* J-45504 - Clutch Pulley Installer





Note: If replacing the bearing, also replace the counter driven gear.

1. Install a new snap ring (1) to the outer race of the tapered roller bearing.




2. Using a piston ring compressor, compress the snap ring.




3. Using a press (1), press in the outer race of the front differential transfer driven gear bearing.




4. Install the output carrier internal gear (1) to the front differential transfer driven gear (2).




5. Using snap ring pliers, install the snap ring (1).




6. Using a press (1) and J-37161-2 - adapter (3) press the front differential transfer driven gear inner race (rear side) into the front carrier.




7. Install the front differential transfer driven gear to the output carrier.





Note: Press the counter driven gear while rotating it.

8. Using a press and J-37161-2 - adapter press in the inner race (front side).





Note: Press the counter driven gear while rotating it.

9. Using a press (1) and J-37161-2 - adapter (3) press in the parking lock gear.





Note: Press the counter driven gear while rotating it.

10. Using a press (1) and J-37161-2 - adapter (3) press in the differential drive pinion.





Note: Press the counter driven gear while rotating it.

11. Using a press (1) and J-45504 - installer (3) press in the front differential drive park pawl gear bearing inner race.




12. Clamp the output carrier assemble (1) in a soft jaw vise using the park pawl gear.

Caution: Refer to Fastener Caution (Fastener Caution).

13. Using a socket, install a new lock nut and tighten to 280 Nm (207 lb ft).




14. Using a chisel and hammer, stake the lock nut.
