Owner Letter

Dear Porsche Owner:

Commercially available engine oils, like other products, vary in quality and durability. While some offer excellent lubricating characteristics and protection against deterioration for many miles, other oils may loose some of these characteristics at lesser miles.

We have enclosed a new maintenance schedule for your Porsche for future use. We ask, however, that you retain the original Warranty and Maintenance booklet as a record of your warranty rights and previous maintenance.

The high performance capabilities of the Porsche turbo-charged engine places extra demands upon the engine's lubricant. It is therefore important that the lubricant operates at maximum efficiency at all times. Because of these demands, Porsche, as a precautionary measure, has modified the intervals at which the oil should be changed. Porsche recommends that in the future you arrange to have the oil in your engine changed at intervals of not more than 5,000 miles or six months, whichever occurs first. Please disregard the recommendations contained in the maintenance schedule delivered with your Porsche at the time of purchase.
